Summer’s moving fast. Mornings are quieter, afternoons a little longer, and we’re deep into planning for the Hebron Harvest Fair in September. Our biggest event yet!
If you’re new around here, Cape House Coffee is just the two of us, my wife and I. We’ve built every part of this from scratch. We craft the blends, name them, design the labels, run the website, write the emails, and pour a lot of time and heart into every step.
We started Cape House because we wanted to share coffee that’s thoughtful, well-made, and approachable. The kind you look forward to each morning, not just something that fills a mug.
And as we head into our busiest season yet, we wanted to share a quick update, a favorite summer brew tip, and a little of what’s happening behind the scenes.
Cold Brew, Cape House Style
This time of year, we go full iced mode. Forget fancy gear. This is how we make cold brew at home:
- 3/4 cup coarsely ground coffee
- 3 cups cold, filtered water
- Let it steep overnight in the fridge, strain in the morning, pour over ice. Done.
If you like it creamy, try oat milk or stir in a spoonful of maple syrup.
Our Cape House Signature Blend is our go-to for this, smooth, balanced, and refreshing.
Out at the Market
We’ve been at the Tolland Green Farmers Market most Sundays this summer, and it’s been going really well. Getting to meet customers face to face, talk coffee, and see returning folks come back for another bag has been a real highlight. If you're local and haven't stopped by yet, we'd love to see you! |

What We're Working On: Hebron Harvest Fair
In September, we’ll be vending at the Hebron Harvest Fair (Sept 4–7), where over 120,000 people pass through over four days. It’s a big moment for us.
We’re deep into fair prep right now, working on signage, dialing in our booth layout, and figuring out what to bring. We’ve also been tossing around the idea of creating a small-batch roast just for the Hebron Fair, but we’re still feeling that out.
If you’ve got thoughts on what kind of roast or bundle you’d be excited to see this fall (fair or not) we’d honestly love to hear from you.
We'd Love To Hear From You
We’re still a small crew over here, just the two of us, and that means we get to keep things personal. Our favorite part of building Cape House Coffee has been hearing from the people who drink it.
If you’ve got thoughts, ideas, questions, or just want to say hey, we’d love to hear from you.
- What kinds of coffees are you enjoying lately?
- Is there something you’d love to see us explore?
- Do you like getting updates like this? Want more behind-the-scenes? Less?
You can always reach us directly at info@capehousecoffee.com or through our contact page. We read every message.
Thanks for stopping by and for supporting a tiny company with big hopes, one cup at a time.
